I never got it

Everybody has something that they wanted for
Christmas when they were a kid
and never got..

Well.. unless you were a spoiled little bastard and got everything you wanted

Here's my toy that never was...
The infamous Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine
Circa 1983

I wanted it bad. But did I get it? - No

"You drop an ice cube in and get a snow cone out
yum yum fun is what its all about."

But I guess I'll never know if the
"yum yum fun" is really what it was all about...

What did YOU want for Christmas
but never got?

  1. Go to eBay and search for item #200049862242 and you can bid on one right now!

It's never too late to be a kid.

  2. I never got one of those either. But I think it was more like 1980 for me.

I know there was lots of other stuff too.

  3. Oh, I so got one of these and loved it! That would be a great gift to have again. Have you seen the new Easy Bake Ovens? Now they have a stovetop where you can melt icing/toppings.

  4. OH, I remember this one.

Don't worry Jen, my family didn't have money when I was a kid and I NEVER got everything that I wanted. Not that I wanted alot but my mom tried the best she could.

Maybe we should take up a collection and buy you those toys you always wanted but never got?

  5. For me it was those darn Cabbage Patch kids - all the cool (read - RICH) kids got one. I got a knock-off that my aunt made...not nearly as cool then - but now - it's very cool to have something that must have taken her hours to make.

    A sno-cone machine?

Did you ever try to do one of those things? My kids wanted one and I picked one up at the store.

You drop in a few ice cubes, bust a serious hump turning a small crank, and after about 1/2 hour; you get 3 tablespoons of ice.

I have three kids and there is no way I was going to put an evening's worth of wrestling a plastic toy dog house for that. Thank God for the blender.

    Snoopy = cool character
sno-cone machine = instrument of Hell

I got a snow-cone maker but around '72. And it wasn't snoopy. So while I did get a snow-cone machine, it wasn't a cool one like snoopy. Damn, even when I win, I lose.

I think I was probably pretty spoiled. I even got a Cabbage Patch Kid. I'm sure I wanted the Snoopy Sno-cone maker, but I know I didn't get it.

I do remember one year my parents got me a table easel for painting, and wrapped with it was a note that said "IOU paints and paper"... I never got the paints and paper.
