Yeah, but when was the last time a Frech guy won anyway? I thought the Tour De France, while held in France, usually was won by an American or an Italian anyway. Maybe I'm thinking of boce ball.
France has a wonderful history of losing events held in its own country... e.g. The war - they gave it up to the germans faster than you can say "breadstick"
