it's just popcorn

I made popcorn today
I got this popper for christmas 2 years ago & never
opened it, but today was the day kids!

(I know... I can feel the excitment too)

I remember making popcorn when I was a kid
we had a popper similar to this
Only the top was made of glass rather that plastic

So when I saw this fancy machine
at the store I had to have it...
(Even though it took me 2 years to take it out of the box)

FACT:

It kicks microwave popcorn's ass!

I decided to photo document the popcorn popping process
since I have nothing else to talk about

Here we go

This has been another fascinating post
from casual slack

no need to thank me

Well, that was just fascinating, how the corn was first hard and shelled, and then suddenly, by putting it in a machine called a popcorn maker, it becomes light and fluffy. Fascinating.

You know, no matter what your age or ethnic background, it is never too late to learn. Thank you Jen!! :)

  3. Brilliant!,
I had my nostrils buried into the screen, and I swear I could smell the popcorn.
    Thank you Sensei!

I'll have to wipe the screen now though...

  6. We had that popper when I was a kid, as well...I tried to explain to my son about jiffy pop, and television before the days of VCR's and such, when a snoopy special was the major event in a grade schooler's life. He thought it was hysterical.

There is only one kind of popcorn I like now... and it is Pop Secret Homestyle Microwave with land o'lakes butter... and the sad thing is... I can't get it in Canada. :(

Let's see, if I start out now and drive the 5 minutes it takes to cross RI (adding of course crossing ANOTHER state that actually has some people in it), then I could be to you in about 2 hours or so, maybe less!

I hope you have some popcorn left! See you in a bit!! :)

Zed, I liked your story regarding this popcorn maker invention. It adds that much more to Jen's photos.

  11. We have a hot air popper. It sucks. A new popper may be on the Christmas list this year.

Jen: Does your popper require oil?

  14. Oh baby! Popcorn is the best!

I bought my wife a real live popcorn machine last year. We've gone through 2 and a half 50 lb bags of popcorn since then. =)
