bad tv

Apparently.. it was
30 years ago yesterday,
The Fonz jumped the shark

Pure crap television - at it's finest!
Watchy here

"Since then, it has become a metaphor that has been used by
U.S. TV critics
and fans to denote the point at which the characters or plot
of a TV series veer into a ridiculous, out-of-the-ordinary storyline."

I remember watching this.. but in 1977 I was only 4...
So I guess It was the re-run I remember watching

You know you watched it too - don't lie

I watched it. I don't think it was a rerun that you saw at that time. It was still on the air, I believe.

It Had to be the re-run
of that episode

I don't think I would have
remembered it when I was 4

maybe it was SO disturbing that it never left your brain.

hahahahaha

it went off the air in 1984, according to Wikipedia.

I vote for the tramatic incident. You might want to think about therapy to get this erased from your brain.

Not only do I remember watching, I remember thinking that it sucked and that the show may be going down hill. I was 10.

Even back then, I didn't watch happy days. I guess there was something on opposite of it that we watched.

Or maybe nobody wanted to get up and turn the knob on the TV...

I watched Happy Days, but I don't remember that episode. I would also have been four then.

It was a real "nail-biter". I was on the edge of my seat. I shudder to think what life would have been like if he hadn't made it.
He had great legs, btw...

John Hine - the guy that invented "Jump the Shark" is a trillionaire because of this show. But he works for Howard Stern now.

What's your beef with "The Fonz?"

Groover here...

HD was HUGE in jr high, especially the episode with Pinky Tescadero (sp?) and the Fonz jumping those cans on his Mcycle.

In wood shop we all took bets... "Will he die man?"

When does 'jump the shark' finally jump the shark? I'm so sick of hearing the phrase. Go Fonzie!
