I got one

So... Tonight I went into EB Games to pick up a
last minute gift card. I'm one of those wait until the
last minute angry shoppers - it's a sickness

the line wrapped around the inside of the store
and it had to be at least 95 degrees in this place
and then some lady in line is coughing all over everything
it sounded like she was about to cough up a lung.
all could think of was that movie outbreak
- remember when someone would cough - it would
show you the germs in slow motion moving thru the air
and other people breathing them in -

Then there is this girl behind me she looked like
a full grown Bratz Doll.. She kept saying how hot she was.
"I'm hot.." It's so hot" "I'm hot"
And she was standing 2 inches
away from me.. totally invading my personal space
I wanted to jam my elbow into her face

The line moved so slow - I was screaming on the inside.
it was agony

so FINALLY - it's my turn

My husband had been waiting outside the store
(it was in the mall)
he came over to the register
he said to me - ask the girl if they have any playstation 3s

I said...
Pfffffttt Nooooo, they don't have any

TIM: just ask

ME: *sigh* they don't have any
NOBODY has them

the girl at the register is looking at me smiling

ME: Do you have any PS3's?

Yes we have one..
with the 60 gig, Would you like it?

*pause*
*look of disbelief on both our faces*
Yeah... I'll take it

Girl says
"Most people don't ask"

So I got me a PS3
and I didn't have to camp out in a parking lot
or pay thousands on ebay

the down side...
I went into eb games to spend $10.00
I left with a $719.00 charge on my credit card

damn

By my calculations it will be the middle of February before any money you make will be yours.

This is all assuming you don't get addicted to the gaming and your life spirals down to living in your undies and eating 4 week old pizza off the carpet.

Like me.

When gaming, there's nothing wrong with 4 week-old pizza off the carpet.

It needed to be said.

I'm envious that you have a P3. Would you consider adopting me? I could clean your house for game playing.

Just a thought.

do you do laundry?

Wow - You'll have to listen to your husband more often. Thanks for your comment support over at my blog.

I've heard the games for it suck so far. But, at least you can play them.

I'm a little jealous, too.

jen, how could you. The Nintendo Wii is far superior to that large hamburger grill you just bought. I'm so dissapointed. I hope you're selling it for some good cash, that's the only way I could forgive you!

LOL!

All I Can
Say is
Blu-Ray

Bob said...

Blu-Ray is a dead end technology. Remember the Mini-Disc? Another hair brained idea from your pals at Sony.

I want a Wii. But I'm broke, so it's just as well I can't find one.

wii is for the kids
ps3 for the grown ups, blu-ray
is amazing technology

Wow!!! The Kid is on his way over to your place as we speak! ;-)

See good things come to those who wait. Or something like that anyway.

Glad you are happy. My son would be over there drooling on your 4 week old pizza if he knew you had one.

Poet - Thanks for stopping by!

Trust me, monkey, blu-ray is a dead end technology that is destined to fail.

I have kids, so to me the Wii is superior.

I bought a Wii without waiting. I actually could have bought more. I couldn't resist doubling my money on ebay though. I'll now buy one for free with the profits. sell it jen.

Jen you should have gotten XBox 360. It's more of an adult system. Ok kids, here is the breakdown...

WII - Pre Teen game system
PS3 - Teen Game system
XBox- Adult Game System

In any event, let me give you some advice about your new PS3... Go to Gamefly.com and rent your games. It's like Netflix for gamers. Play a game, finish it, send it back. It beats shelling out $60 a game!

I went into EB Games and ALSO stood in line. I just wanted to buy a gift card. 20 minutes later...
"Ohhh, yeah - sorry our gift card machine is down, we can't code them."
UGH! How about a sign on the door to let people know. Also, if people walk in and go directly to the line without shopping, chances are they want a gift card... how about a little announcement to the line?

No. That would be too easy.

Certainly the riches you generate from The Casual Slack will pay for this in a matter of minutes.
