just terrible. It was a very entertaining dude (despite the bad press he got while holding his infant baby near a crocodile!!) So young-only 44 and a wife and two babies left behind. He definitely lived a very fulfilled life. God Bless him!
first thing I though was like thewatchlist - play with fire, get burned.
Not to say I don't regret his passing. He had a lust for life. It's just that his death, like Roy's injury, didn't surprise me. Wild animals are dangerous.
Ok-- my daughter is still planning to move ahead with her interview at the zoo.
For all of you who pray... pray now. For all of you who have good Karma... may I borrow some, or offer BlogMad credits, or perhaps I would gladly pay you Tuesday for some good Karma today?
He lived a life that was at full speed. Not that crazy crap, out of control speed. But loved life, family, the planet and saw joy in all that there is to see. In tiny ways we should all be like that.

Shit, I loved watching that guy!
I thought for sure it would be a croc that would get him though.
I always figured
it would be a
snake bite...
My Kids are going to be so disappointed...they loved watching him...
I'm with Jen I guessed it would be a snake.
That ended my son's aspirations to play in shark-infested waters.
I just saw this on the new, sad!
I thought an alligator would eventually get him also. Who would have thought a stingray?
That is so sad. That guy had more energy than 10 of us put together.
I'll miss his great love for the unloved animals of the world.
It is lucky he made it this long with all the crazy stuff he did.
mess with the bull, get the horn
He was a special guy. He really was the same in person. Amazing energy and enthusiasm for life.
He will be very missed!
Life's a vapor.

Yes... very sad. My kids loved him too (when they were younger). One of my kids even sent him a letter, and still has the return letter.
:(
Poor Steve.
The media is going nuts down here. Tributes and such. I didn't realise how much I liked him and how much he did for my country until he was gone.
And by all reports, he was a genuine bloody good bloke!

Wonder at ALL you see,
you may never again.
I guess I wouldn't have been surprised if he got his chowed off by a crocodile, but this... this is tragic.
