I've heard you're supposed to hit deer that way. Just head on. Supposedly they do less damage that way.

Maybe the Moose just hate cars.

I've heard of it happening but maybe it's just one of those urban legends.

I always have my foot on the pedal just praying that a moose will be foolish enough to wander into my sights. BAM!

I've seen news reports over the years of a moose derailing a train. Imagine what it would do to one of those plastic-bodied cars on the road these days? I've always heard that moose have bad tempers. Talk about road rage!

No moose around here, but I always brake for beavers.

Lucky that there are few mirrors in the wild or we would have to worry about moose committing suicide by car after catching a glipse of themselves.

I'll brake for a Moosehead.

Some people just drive full throttle and don't see the moose until it's too late.

Can you sue a moose for damages?

Two fellow employees at my company covered rural areas, as did I. They had actually hit deer resulting in damage to their cars and the deaths of the deer. I clipped a deer one night traveling a 2 lane highway on my way home from Sally's house in Circleville. That deer was standing in the middle of the road as I came over a rise. His back toward me, the little fella turns his head to the rear to see what's going on. He suddenly realizes that it's me going on, and darts to the left to avoid me. At the same time, I'm steering to the right and braking hard. Thank god for automatic brakes. My left bumper brushed his right leg as he ran off into the woods.

Excellent question Jen. You're a deer.

Hey Jen! Thought I'd be Catholic today (although they celebrate on Saturday, don't they. Damn)...
