it's monday

It's Monday - The most horrific day of the week

This morning I awoke to Hootie & The Blowfish
at maximum volume - quite disturbing
I managed to control my rage and
NOT smash my alarm clock into millions of pieces

THEN
I was listening to TV this morning and they were talking about
the academy awards and I heard some bitch proclaim
that her shoes cost 1 million dollars
"each shoe is $500,000"
Are they fucking kidding? I have to go to work like a schmuck
and this asshole is wearing million dollar shoes because
she has a job playing "make believe" in hollywood - WTF!!!

THEN
It's snowing out... I head out to work in the slushy, cold nastiness
and I get stuck behind a sanding truck and spend half of my commute
driving 20 miles per hour

NOW
I am here.. WORK
work sucks - monday sucks - everything sucks

My mother lied to me - volume 1

circa 1981

On this particular occasion, I was sick...
I had a bad cough and did not want any cough syrup
because I hated the way it tasted
My mother was always pushing the fucking cough syrup...
- as usual, I refused.

And then she tried to scam me, It went something like this:
mom: You want some soda?
me: YEAH! (Who doesn't want soda when they're a kid?)
mom: okay, go watch tv and Ill bring it in to you
(I should have known something was up when she offered to bring it to me...)

She brings it in... I take a BIG mouth full of pepsi
**GAG** followed by **DRAMATIC PAUSE**
(shocked look on my face)
'this tastes very similar to cough syrup, I thought to myself'
Could it be?? Could my mother have done this to me???

I run to the kitchen - full speed
"THIS TASTES LIKE COUGH SYRUP
DID YOU PUT COUGH SYRUP IN THIS????"

her reply: no. there is nothing in it - go drink it!
mind you, the bottle of medicine was still sitting on the counter next to the pepsi
SHE LIED TO ME... LIED RIGHT TO MY FACE
(not the first time - nor the last)
Yet ANOTHER example of my parents thinking I was an absolute fucking idiot

She put vile, disgusting, cough syrup in my pepsi.
Ruining a perfectly fine beverage.

What the hell kind of warped universe was my mother living in
that she didn't think I was going to notice?

She still cannot be trusted.

But I'm not bitter..
Okay, maybe just a little bitter.

this is "Bert"
he's a salesman where I work..

real name: Robert
but I managed to get the entire office to call him "Bert"
He hated it at first.. but I think it grew on him

we also refer to him as
"Bertholomew" & "Bertrum Van Shultz"

Bert says things like:
• "what are you talking a boot" (he's Canadian)
• "cool your porridge"
• "Oh my soul!"
• "WELL DARLIN' that's the way it is"
• Along with many other unintelligible phrases
(he's a bit of a mumbler)

He amuses me.

I rented it because

He would look so much better...

• wow.. Matt Dillon has been around a while, remember him

• Kate Hudson left her husband for Owen Wilson...
I wonder if they broke up yet?...probably

• I can't stand Michael Douglas

• They showed all the funny parts in the Trailer .. and they weren't THAT funny
