There's Crushed Beetles in My Yogurt?

"When you dig into a strawberry Yoplait yogurt,
take a moment to contemplate
where the beautiful pink color comes from. Strawberries?
Think again. It comes from crushed bugs."

okay Jen, between you and Zed, I'm not eating. EVER. AGAIN.

Zed said...

Yes, as of today I'm giving up food. I hope you're proud of yourself Jen.

Oh, great, I just read that Jell-O pudding is made of gelatin, which "is made from a protein that is derived from prolonged boiling of animal skin, tissue, and bones."

It doesn't matter to me though, because I gave up food today. Once again, thank you Jen.

I just sent a letter to Yoplait telling them that I'm totally disgusted. Obviously if they actually said what they put in their yogurt people wouldn't buy it. So, they're sneaky bitches. I have banned General Mills for good.

Im going to throw up now...

I liked strawberry yogurt too...

Im going to shelve that with the jello and veal

I don't think every brand does it

god, I hope not

How do you even find out??
it's not like the label says:
contains crushed beetles!

It must be only the "pink" colored yogurts...

Pardon? I'm really quite in shock right now.

I just read the article again
I was so stunned the first time it
didn't fully register

if the package says:

carmine or cochineal extract
that means Mashed Beetles!

So look for
cochineal extract..!

We've been eating it all along and we're not dead yet. I'm not as flipped out as you, because I'd rather eat crushed beatles than Potting Soil which I hear is in Hood Ice Cream.
"Red" told me her doctor told her that when she discovered she had "gerd".

I don't understand this sentence

Jen, GERD is gastroesophageal reflux disease. Now if you could just figure out who Red is, you're in business.

Well, the beetles must be really small...so if you eat it quickly you might not taste them. Or is the strawberry taste really the beetles? I'm going to find out....
