What a great guy he was. Great actor, for the people, humanitarian, etc etc.

You LOVE the obits, don't you, Jen?

Funny, I've got a Paul Newman film on Netflix right here. The Sting with Robert Redford, too.

He rarely talked about his charity work, raising money for AIDS and Cancer. He also created free holiday summer camps for seriously ill children, which thus far has given holidays to over 100,000 children from the US and around the world.

I was lucky enough to cook for him 3 times when he came to a restaurant I was working at in Middleburg, VA.

Mr Newman had a horse ranch in Virginia which he and his wife liked to spend time at.

I only spoke to him briefly, but those sparkling blues and charming nature made a big impression. I send my condolences to his family.

Paul was a great example of using all he had for the good of others.

He could have cut short his development by just being a hunk and rich movie star.

He chose a different path.

In a word, he chose to reflect on blessing. He often said he was blessed and had to give back.

He knew there were better looking actors, more talented, etc.

Yet...he had the success.

This is the humble view and looked what he did with what he had.

We know only of his public giving. There is a tremendous amount of private we will probably only learn about in the year ahead.

Now let's all rent a Newman flick and buy some popcorn!
